Growing Old
      by Sue Seaman
Growing old comes to us all
When eyesight’s not so clear
And grey hairs - sometimes baldness
Gradually appear.

Age’s spots and blemishes
They will come for sure
And hearing isn’t quite the same
Not hearing sounds clear, anymore.

These things come to all of us
As we gracefully grow old.
No one’s free from old age
In the Bible we are told.

But what happens after old age
So far - beyond the sky?
Have you thought about your future,
And what happens when you die?

The Bible says there’s judgement
And it talks of ‘second death’
Don’t laugh or mock the Saviour
For God knows what is best.

Sinners cannot enter Heaven
Only those are made clean
If you’ve not been to Jesus
Accept Him while you can.

Growing old will not stand still
And will come to everyone
One day you will be old and grey
No more will you be young.

So think about your future
And the days that lie ahead
For everyone upon this earth
Must come face to face with death.

Dear friend
Do not leave it too long before you think about the future - none of us know what the future may bring and the Bible says "For he (God) saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation."
(2 Corinthians 6:2)
